Big River Meadows
Eviction from Eden
A 1927 Montana Tragedy

W. David Jones, M.D.

A mysterious drifter, WWI vet Jack Dougan, hires on as a ranch hand at the T-6 ranch in Montana that sprawls across the harsh and beautiful Rocky Mountain Front. Dugan quickly gains the confidence of the entire Jones family, and especially Minerva. The setting is ripe for intrigue, betrayal and tragedy.

"My daddy was murdered and it's all my fault," wails the gnarled 90-year-old rancher with dementia. Bill Jones, reverting to his 12th year, reveals a 78-year-old secret regarding his father's death and calls the tragedy murder. Big River Meadows starts with the death and then describes ranch life, a mountain horseback pack trip and the triangle that led up to the crime. "Little Billy" confesses to his part in the affair. He finds resolution in his dying moments. The conclusion is surprising and inspirational.
